Who is as the wise2450 man? and who knoweth3045 the interpretation6592 of a thing1697? a man's120 wisdom2451 maketh his face6440 to shine215, and the boldness5797 of his face6440 shall be changed8132.
I counsel thee to keep8104 the king's4428 commandment6310, and that in regard1700 of the oath7621 of God430.
Be not hasty926 to go out3212 of his sight6440: stand5975 not in an evil7451 thing1697; for he doeth6213 whatsoever pleaseth2654 him.
Where the word1697 of a king4428 is, there is power7983: and who may say559 unto him, What doest6213 thou?
Whoso keepeth8104 the commandment4687 shall feel3045 no evil7451 thing1697: and a wise man's2450 heart3820 discerneth3045 both time6256 and judgment4941.
Because to every purpose2656 there is3426 time6256 and judgment4941, therefore the misery7451 of man120 is great7227 upon him.
For he knoweth3045 not that which shall be: for who can tell5046 him when it shall be?
There is no man120 that hath power7989 over the spirit7307 to retain3607 the spirit7307; neither hath he power7983 in the day3117 of death4194: and there is no discharge4917 in that war4421; neither shall wickedness7562 deliver4422 those that are given1167 to it.
All this have I seen7200, and applied5414 my heart3820 unto every work4639 that is done6213 under the sun8121: there is a time6256 wherein one man120 ruleth7980 over another to his own hurt7451.
And so3651 I saw7200 the wicked7563 buried6912, who had come935 and gone1980 from the place4725 of the holy6918, and they were forgotten7911 in the city5892 where they had so done6213: this is also vanity1892.
Because sentence6599 against an evil7451 work4639 is not executed6213 speedily4120, therefore the heart3820 of the sons1121 of men120 is fully set4390 in them to do6213 evil7451.
Though a sinner2398 do6213 evil7451 an hundred times3967, and his days be prolonged748, yet surely I know3045 that it shall be well2896 with them that fear3373 God430, which fear3372 before6440 him:
But it shall not be well2896 with the wicked7563, neither shall he prolong748 his days3117, which are as a shadow6738; because he feareth3373 not before6440 God430.
There is3426 a vanity1892 which is done6213 upon the earth776; that there be just6662 men, unto whom it happeneth5060 according to the work4639 of the wicked7563; again, there be3426 wicked7563 men, to whom it happeneth5060 according to the work4639 of the righteous6662: I said559 that this also1571 is vanity1892.
Then I commended7623 mirth8057, because a man120 hath no better thing2896 under the sun8121, than to eat398, and to drink8354, and to be merry8055: for that shall abide3867 with him of his labour5999 the days3117 of his life2416, which God430 giveth5414 him under the sun8121.
When I applied5414 mine heart3820 to know3045 wisdom2451, and to see7200 the business6045 that is done6213 upon the earth776: (for also there is that neither day3117 nor night3915 seeth7200 sleep8142 with his eyes5869:)
Then I beheld7200 all the work4639 of God430, that a man120 cannot3201 find out4672 the work4639 that is done6213 under the sun8121: because834 though7945 a man120 labour5998 to seek it out1245, yet he shall not find4672 it; yea further; though a wise2450 man think559 to know3045 it, yet shall he not be able3201 to find4672 it.
