Now the LORD3068 had said559 unto Abram87, Get thee out3212 of thy country776, and from thy kindred4138, and from thy father's1 house1004, unto a land776 that I will shew7200 thee:
And I will make of thee6213 a great1419 nation1471, and I will bless1288 thee, and make1431 thy name8034 great1431; and thou shalt be a blessing1293:
And I will bless1288 them that bless1288 thee, and curse779 him that curseth7043 thee: and in thee shall all families4940 of the earth127 be blessed1288.
So Abram87 departed3212, as the LORD3068 had spoken1696 unto him; and Lot3876 went3212 with him: and Abram87 was seventy7657 8141 and five2568 years8141 old1121 when he departed3318 out of Haran2771.
And Abram87 took3947 Sarai8297 his wife802, and Lot3876 his brother's251 son1121, and all their substance7399 that they had gathered7408, and the souls5315 that they had gotten6213 in Haran2771; and they went forth3318 to go3212 into the land776 of Canaan3667; and into the land776 of Canaan3667 they came935.
And Abram87 passed through5674 the land776 unto the place4725 of Sichem7927, unto the plain436 of Moreh4176. And the Canaanite3669 was then227 in the land776.
And the LORD3068 appeared7200 unto Abram87, and said559, Unto thy seed2233 will I give5414 this2063 land776: and there builded1129 he an altar4196 unto the LORD3068, who appeared7200 unto him.
And he removed6275 from thence unto a mountain2022 on the east6924 of Bethel1008, and pitched5186 his tent168, having Bethel1008 on the west3220, and Hai5857 on the east6924: and there he builded1129 an altar4196 unto the LORD3068, and called7121 upon the name8034 of the LORD3068.
And Abram87 journeyed5265, going on1980 still5265 toward the south5045.
And there was a famine7458 in the land776: and Abram87 went down3381 into Egypt4714 to sojourn1481 there; for the famine7458 was grievous3515 in the land776.
And it came to pass, when834 he was come near7126 to enter935 into Egypt4714, that he said559 unto Sarai8297 his wife802, Behold2009 now4994, I know3045 that thou art a fair3303 woman802 to look upon4758:
Therefore it shall come to pass, when the Egyptians4713 shall see7200 thee, that they shall say559, This is his wife802: and they will kill2026 me, but they will save thee alive2421.
Say559, I pray thee4994, thou art my sister269: that4616 it may be well3190 with me for thy sake; and my soul5315 shall live2421 because of thee1558.
And it came to pass, that, when Abram87 was come935 into Egypt4714, the Egyptians4713 beheld7200 the woman802 that she was very3966 fair3303.
The princes8269 also of Pharaoh6547 saw7200 her, and commended1984 her before413 Pharaoh6547: and the woman802 was taken3947 into Pharaoh's6547 house1004.
And he entreated3190 Abram87 well3190 for her sake: and he had sheep6629, and oxen1241, and he asses2543, and menservants5650, and maidservants8198, and she asses860, and camels1581.
And the LORD3068 plagued5060 Pharaoh6547 and his house1004 with great1419 plagues5061 because of1697 Sarai8297 Abram's87 wife802.
And Pharaoh6547 called7121 Abram87, and said559, What is this that thou hast done6213 unto me? why didst thou not tell5046 me that she was thy wife802?
Why saidst thou559, She is my sister269? so I might have taken3947 her to me to wife802: now therefore behold thy wife802, take3947 her, and go thy way3212.
And Pharaoh6547 commanded6680 his men582 concerning him: and they sent him away7971, and his wife802, and all that he had.
