3And he went3212 on his journeys4550 from the south5045 even to Bethel1008, unto the place4725 where his tent168 had been1961 at the beginning8462, between Bethel1008 and Hai5857;
4Unto the place4725 of the altar4196, which he had made6213 there at the first7223: and there Abram87 called7121 on the name8034 of the LORD3068.
5And Lot3876 also, which went1980 with854 Abram87, had flocks6629, and herds1241, and tents168.
6And the land776 was not able to bear5375 them, that they might dwell3427 together3162: for their substance7399 was great7227, so that they could3201 not dwell3427 together3162.
7And there was a strife7379 between the herdmen7462 of Abram's87 cattle4735 and the herdmen7462 of Lot's3876 cattle4735: and the Canaanite3669 and the Perizzite6522 dwelled3427 then in the land776.
8And Abram87 said559 unto Lot3876, Let there be1961 no408 strife4808, I pray thee, between me and thee, and between my herdmen7462 and thy herdmen7462; for we582 be brethren251.
9Is not the whole land776 before thee6440? separate thyself6504, I pray thee, from me: if thou wilt take the left hand8040, then I will go to the right3231; or if thou depart to the right hand3225, then I will go to the left8041.
10And Lot3876 lifted up5375 his eyes5869, and beheld7200 all the plain3603 of Jordan3383, that it was well watered4945 every where, before6440 the LORD3068 destroyed7843 Sodom5467 and Gomorrah6017, even as the garden1588 of the LORD3068, like the land776 of Egypt4714, as thou comest935 unto Zoar6820.
11Then Lot3876 chose977 him all the plain3603 of Jordan3383; and Lot3876 journeyed5265 east6924: and they separated themselves6504 the one376 from the other251.
12Abram87 dwelled3427 in the land776 of Canaan3667, and Lot3876 dwelled3427 in the cities5892 of the plain3603, and pitched his tent167 toward5704 Sodom5467.
13But the men582 of Sodom5467 were wicked7451 and sinners2400 before the LORD3068 exceedingly3966.
14And the LORD3068 said559 unto Abram87, after310 that Lot3876 was separated6504 from him, Lift up5375 now thine eyes5869, and look7200 from the place4725 where thou art northward6828, and southward5045, and eastward6924, and westward3220:
15For all the land776 which thou seest7200, to thee will I give it5414, and to thy seed2233 for5704 ever5769.
16And I will make7760 thy seed2233 as the dust6083 of the earth776: so that834 if a man376 can3201 number4487 the dust6083 of the earth776, then shall thy seed2233 also be numbered4487.
17Arise6965, walk1980 through the land776 in the length753 of it and in the breadth7341 of it; for I will give5414 it unto thee.
18Then Abram87 removed his tent167, and came935 and dwelt3427 in the plain436 of Mamre4471, which is in Hebron2275, and built1129 there an altar4196 unto the LORD3068.
