3And God410 Almighty7706 bless1288 thee, and make thee fruitful6509, and multiply7235 thee, that thou mayest be a multitude6951 of people5971;
4And give5414 thee the blessing1293 of Abraham85, to thee, and to thy seed2233 with thee; that thou mayest inherit3423 the land776 wherein thou art a stranger4033, which God430 gave5414 unto Abraham85.
5And Isaac3327 sent away7971 Jacob3290: and he went3212 to Padanaram6307 unto Laban3837, son1121 of Bethuel1328 the Syrian761, the brother251 of Rebekah7259, Jacob's3290 and Esau's6215 mother517.
6When Esau6215 saw7200 that Isaac3327 had blessed1288 Jacob3290, and sent him away7971 to Padanaram6307, to take3947 him a wife802 from thence; and that as he blessed1288 him he gave him a charge6680, saying559, Thou shalt not take3947 a wife802 of the daughters1323 of Canaan3667;
7And that Jacob3290 obeyed8085 his father1 and his mother517, and was gone3212 to Padanaram6307;
8And Esau6215 seeing7200 that the daughters1323 of Canaan3667 pleased5869 not7451 Isaac3327 his father1;
9Then went3212 Esau6215 unto Ishmael3458, and took3947 unto the wives802 which he had Mahalath4258 the daughter1323 of Ishmael3458 Abraham's85 son1121, the sister269 of Nebajoth5032, to be his wife802.
10And Jacob3290 went out3318 from Beersheba884, and went3212 toward Haran2771.
11And he lighted6293 upon a certain place4725, and tarried there all night3885, because the sun8121 was set935; and he took3947 of the stones68 of that place4725, and put7760 them for his pillows4763, and lay down7901 in that place4725 to sleep7901.
12And he dreamed2492, and behold a ladder5551 set up5324 on the earth776, and the top of it7218 reached5060 to heaven8064: and behold the angels4397 of God430 ascending5927 and descending3381 on it.

17And he was afraid3372, and said559, How dreadful3372 is this place4725! this is none other but the house1004 of God430, and this is the gate8179 of heaven8064.
18And Jacob3290 rose up early7925 in the morning1242, and took3947 the stone68 that he had put7760 for his pillows4763, and set it up7760 for a pillar4676, and poured3332 oil8081 upon the top of it7218.
19And he called7121 the name8034 of that place4725 Bethel1008: but199 the name8034 of that city5892 was called Luz3870 at the first7223.
20And Jacob3290 vowed5087 a vow5088, saying559, If God430 will be with me, and will keep me8104 in this way1870 that I go1980, and will give5414 me bread3899 to eat398, and raiment899 to put on3847,
21So that I come again7725 to my father's1 house1004 in peace7965; then shall the LORD3068 be my God430:
22And this stone68, which I have set7760 for a pillar4676, shall be God's430 house1004: and of all that thou shalt give5414 me I will surely6237 give the tenth6237 unto thee.
