And he heard8085 the words1697 of Laban's3837 sons1121, saying559, Jacob3290 hath taken away3947 all that was our father's1; and of that which was our father's1 hath he gotten6213 all this glory3519.
And Jacob3290 beheld7200 the countenance6440 of Laban3837, and, behold, it was not toward him as8543 before8032.
And the LORD3068 said559 unto Jacob3290, Return7725 unto the land776 of thy fathers1, and to thy kindred4138; and I will be with thee.
And Jacob3290 sent7971 and called7121 Rachel7354 and Leah3812 to the field7704 unto his flock6629,
And said559 unto them, I see7200 your father's1 countenance6440, that it is not toward me as8543 before8032; but the God430 of my father1 hath been1961 with me.
And ye859 know3045 that with all my power3581 I have served5647 your father1.
And your father1 hath deceived2048 me, and changed2498 my wages4909 ten6235 times4489; but God430 suffered him5414 not to hurt7489 me5978.
If he said559 thus, The speckled5348 shall be thy wages7939; then all the cattle6629 bare3205 speckled5348: and if he said559 thus, The ringstraked6124 shall be thy hire7939; then bare3205 all the cattle6629 ringstraked6124.
Thus God430 hath taken away5337 the cattle4735 of your father1, and given5414 them to me.
And it came to pass at the time6256 that the cattle6629 conceived3179, that I lifted up5375 mine eyes5869, and saw7200 in a dream2472, and, behold, the rams6260 which leaped5927 upon the cattle6629 were ringstraked6124, speckled5348, and grisled1261.
And the angel4397 of God430 spake559 unto me in a dream2472, saying, Jacob3290: And I said559, Here am I.
And he said559, Lift up5375 now thine eyes5869, and see7200, all the rams6260 which leap5927 upon the cattle6629 are ringstraked6124, speckled5348, and grisled1261: for I have seen7200 all that Laban3837 doeth6213 unto thee.
I am the God410 of Bethel1008, where thou anointedst4886 the pillar4676, and where thou vowedst5087 a vow5088 unto me: now arise6965, get thee out3318 from this land776, and return7725 unto the land776 of thy kindred4138.
And Rachel7354 and Leah3812 answered6030 and said559 unto him, Is there yet any portion2506 or inheritance5159 for us in our father's1 house1004?
Are we not counted2803 of him strangers5237? for he hath sold4376 us, and hath quite398 devoured398 also our money3701.
For all the riches6239 which God430 hath taken5337 from our father1, that is ours, and our children's1121: now then, whatsoever God430 hath said559 unto thee, do6213.
Then Jacob3290 rose up6965, and set5375 his sons1121 and his wives802 upon camels1581;
And he carried away5090 all his cattle4735, and all his goods7399 which he had gotten7408, the cattle4735 of his getting7075, which he had gotten7408 in Padanaram6307, for to go935 to Isaac3327 his father1 in the land776 of Canaan3667.
And Laban3837 went1980 to shear1494 his sheep6629: and Rachel7354 had stolen1589 the images8655 that were her father's1.
And Jacob3290 stole away1589 unawares3820 to Laban3837 the Syrian761, in that5921 he told5046 him not1097 that he fled1272.
So he fled1272 with all that he had; and he rose up6965, and passed over5674 the river5104, and set7760 his face6440 toward the mount2022 Gilead1568.
And it was told5046 Laban3837 on the third7992 day3117 that Jacob3290 was fled1272.
And he took3947 his brethren251 with him, and pursued7291 after him310 seven7651 days'3117 journey1870; and they overtook1692 him in the mount2022 Gilead1568.
And God430 came935 to Laban3837 the Syrian761 in a dream2472 by night3915, and said559 unto him, Take heed8104 that thou speak1696 not to5973 Jacob3290 either good2896 or5704 bad7451.
Then Laban3837 overtook5381 Jacob3290. Now Jacob3290 had pitched8628 his tent168 in the mount2022: and Laban3837 with his brethren251 pitched8628 in the mount2022 of Gilead1568.
And Laban3837 said559 to Jacob3290, What hast thou done6213, that thou hast stolen away1589 unawares3824 to me, and carried away5090 my daughters1323, as captives7617 taken with the sword2719?
Wherefore didst thou flee away1272 secretly2244, and steal away1589 from me; and didst not tell5046 me, that I might have sent thee away7971 with mirth8057, and with songs7892, with tabret8596, and with harp3658?
And hast not suffered5203 me to kiss5401 my sons1121 and my daughters1323? thou hast now done foolishly5528 in so doing6213.
It is3426 in the power410 of my hand3027 to do6213 you hurt7451: but the God430 of your father1 spake559 unto me yesternight570, saying559, Take thou heed8104 that thou speak not1696 to Jacob3290 either good2896 or bad7451.
And now, though thou wouldest needs1980 be gone1980, because thou sore3700 longedst3700 after thy father's1 house1004, yet wherefore hast thou stolen1589 my gods430?
And Jacob3290 answered6030 and said559 to Laban3837, Because I was afraid3372: for I said559, Peradventure6435 thou wouldest take by force1497 thy daughters1323 from me.
With whomsoever834 thou findest4672 thy gods430, let him not live2421: before5048 our brethren251 discern5234 thou what is thine with me, and take3947 it to thee. For Jacob3290 knew3045 not that Rachel7354 had stolen1589 them.
And Laban3837 went935 into Jacob's3290 tent168, and into Leah's3812 tent168, and into the two8147 maidservants'519 tents168; but he found4672 them not. Then went he out3318 of Leah's3812 tent168, and entered935 into Rachel's7354 tent168.
Now Rachel7354 had taken3947 the images8655, and put7760 them in the camel's1581 furniture3733, and sat3427 upon them. And Laban3837 searched4959 all the tent168, but found4672 them not.
And she said559 to her father1, Let it not displease2734 5869 my lord113 that I cannot3201 rise up6965 before thee6440; for the custom1870 of women802 is upon me. And he searched2664, but found4672 not the images8655.
And Jacob3290 was wroth2734, and chode7378 with Laban3837: and Jacob3290 answered6030 and said559 to Laban3837, What is my trespass6588? what is my sin2403, that thou hast so hotly pursued1814 after me310?
Whereas3588 thou hast searched4959 all my stuff3627, what hast thou found4672 of all thy household1004 stuff3627? set7760 it here3541 before my brethren251 and thy brethren251, that they may judge3198 betwixt996 us both8147.
This twenty6242 years8141 have I been with thee; thy ewes7353 and thy she goats5795 have not cast their young7921, and the rams352 of thy flock6629 have I not eaten398.
That which was torn2966 of beasts I brought935 not unto thee; I bare the loss2398 of it; of my hand3027 didst thou require1245 it, whether stolen1589 by day3117, or stolen1589 by night3915.
Thus I was; in the day3117 the drought2721 consumed398 me, and the frost7140 by night3915; and my sleep8142 departed5074 from mine eyes5869.
Thus have I been twenty6242 years8141 in thy house1004; I served thee5647 fourteen702 6240 years8141 for thy two8147 daughters1323, and six8337 years8141 for thy cattle6629: and thou hast changed2498 my wages4909 ten6235 times4489.
Except3884 the God430 of my father1, the God430 of Abraham85, and the fear6343 of Isaac3327, had been with me, surely thou hadst sent me away7971 now empty7387. God430 hath seen7200 mine affliction6040 and the labour3018 of my hands3709, and rebuked3198 thee yesternight570.
And Laban3837 answered6030 and said559 unto Jacob3290, These daughters1323 are my daughters1323, and these children1121 are my children1121, and these cattle6629 are my cattle6629, and all that thou seest7200 is mine: and what can I do6213 this day3117 unto these my daughters1323, or176 unto their children1121 which they have born3205?
Now therefore come thou3212, let us make3772 a covenant1285, I and thou; and let it be for a witness5707 between me and thee.
And Jacob3290 took3947 a stone68, and set it up7311 for a pillar4676.
And Jacob3290 said559 unto his brethren251, Gather3950 stones68; and they took3947 stones68, and made6213 an heap1530: and they did eat398 there upon the heap1530.
And Laban3837 called7121 it Jegarsahadutha3026: but Jacob3290 called7121 it Galeed1567.
And Laban3837 said559, This heap1530 is a witness5707 between me and thee this day3117. Therefore was the name8034 of it called7121 Galeed1567;
And Mizpah4709; for834 he said559, The LORD3068 watch6822 between me and thee, when we are absent5641 one376 from another7453.
If thou shalt afflict6031 my daughters1323, or if thou shalt take3947 other wives802 beside5921 my daughters1323, no man376 is with us; see7200, God430 is witness5707 betwixt me and thee.
And Laban3837 said559 to Jacob3290, Behold this heap1530, and behold this pillar4676, which I have cast3384 betwixt me and thee;
This heap1530 be witness5707, and this pillar4676 be witness5713, that I will not pass over5674 this heap1530 to thee, and that thou shalt not pass over5674 this heap1530 and this pillar4676 unto me, for harm7451.
The God430 of Abraham85, and the God430 of Nahor5152, the God430 of their father1, judge8199 betwixt us. And Jacob3290 sware7650 by the fear6343 of his father1 Isaac3327.
Then Jacob3290 offered2076 sacrifice2077 upon the mount2022, and called7121 his brethren251 to eat398 bread3899: and they did eat398 bread3899, and tarried all night3885 in the mount2022.
And early7925 in the morning1242 Laban3837 rose up7925, and kissed5401 his sons1121 and his daughters1323, and blessed1288 them: and Laban3837 departed3212, and returned7725 unto his place4725.
