3And Jacob3290 said559 unto Joseph3130, God410 Almighty7706 appeared7200 unto me at Luz3870 in the land776 of Canaan3667, and blessed1288 me,
4And said559 unto me, Behold, I will make thee fruitful6509, and multiply7235 thee, and I will make5414 of thee a multitude6951 of people5971; and will give5414 this land776 to thy seed2233 after thee310 for an everlasting5769 possession272.
5And now thy two8147 sons1121, Ephraim669 and Manasseh4519, which were born3205 unto thee in the land776 of Egypt4714 before5704 I came935 unto thee into Egypt4714, are mine; as Reuben7205 and Simeon8095, they shall be mine.
6And thy issue4138, which thou begettest3205 after310 them, shall be thine, and shall be called7121 after5921 the name8034 of their brethren251 in their inheritance5159.

8And Israel3478 beheld7200 Joseph's3130 sons1121, and said559, Who are these?
9And Joseph3130 said559 unto his father1, They are my sons1121, whom God430 hath given5414 me in this place. And he said559, Bring them3947, I pray thee, unto me, and I will bless1288 them.
10Now the eyes5869 of Israel3478 were dim3513 for age2207, so that he could3201 not see7200. And he brought them near5066 unto him; and he kissed5401 them, and embraced2263 them.
11And Israel3478 said559 unto Joseph3130, I had not thought6419 to see7200 thy face6440: and, lo, God430 hath shewed7200 me also thy seed2233.
12And Joseph3130 brought them out3318 from between5973 his knees1290, and he bowed7812 himself with his face639 to the earth776.
13And Joseph3130 took3947 them both8147, Ephraim669 in his right hand3225 toward Israel's3478 left hand8040, and Manasseh4519 in his left hand8040 toward Israel's3478 right hand3225, and brought them near5066 unto him.
14And Israel3478 stretched out7971 his right hand3225, and laid7896 it upon Ephraim's669 head7218, who was the younger6810, and his left hand8040 upon Manasseh's4519 head7218, guiding7919 his hands3027 wittingly7919; for Manasseh4519 was the firstborn1060.
15And he blessed1288 Joseph3130, and said559, God430, before6440 whom my fathers1 Abraham85 and Isaac3327 did walk1980, the God430 which fed7462 me all my life long5750 unto this day3117,
16The Angel4397 which redeemed1350 me from all evil7451, bless1288 the lads5288; and let my name8034 be named7121 on them, and the name8034 of my fathers1 Abraham85 and Isaac3327; and let them grow1711 into a multitude7230 in the midst7130 of the earth776.

18And Joseph3130 said559 unto his father1, Not so, my father1: for this is the firstborn1060; put7760 thy right hand3225 upon his head7218.
19And his father1 refused3985, and said559, I know3045 it, my son1121, I know3045 it: he also shall become a people5971, and he also shall be great1431: but truly199 his younger6996 brother251 shall be greater1431 than he, and his seed2233 shall become a multitude4393 of nations1471.
20And he blessed1288 them that day3117, saying559, In thee shall Israel3478 bless1288, saying559, God430 make7760 thee as Ephraim669 and as Manasseh4519: and he set7760 Ephraim669 before6440 Manasseh4519.
21And Israel3478 said559 unto Joseph3130, Behold, I die4191: but God430 shall be with you, and bring you again7725 unto the land776 of your fathers1.
22Moreover I have given5414 to thee one259 portion7926 above thy brethren251, which I took3947 out of the hand3027 of the Amorite567 with my sword2719 and with my bow7198.
