3God430 hath delivered5414 into your hands3027 the princes8269 of Midian4080, Oreb6159 and Zeeb2062: and what was I able3201 to do6213 in comparison of you? Then their anger7307 was abated7503 toward him, when he had said1697 that1696.
4And Gideon1439 came935 to Jordan3383, and passed over5674, he, and the three7969 hundred3967 men376 that were with him, faint5889, yet pursuing7291 them.
5And he said559 unto the men582 of Succoth5523, Give5414, I pray you, loaves3603 of bread3899 unto the people5971 that follow7272 me; for they be faint5889, and I am pursuing7291 after310 Zebah2078 and Zalmunna6759, kings4428 of Midian4080.

12And when Zebah2078 and Zalmunna6759 fled5127, he pursued7291 after310 them, and took3920 the two8147 kings4428 of Midian4080, Zebah2078 and Zalmunna6759, and discomfited2729 all the host4264.

19And he said559, They were my brethren251, even the sons1121 of my mother517: as the LORD3068 liveth2416, if3863 ye had saved them alive2421, I would not slay2026 you.

22Then the men376 of Israel3478 said559 unto Gideon1439, Rule4910 thou over us, both thou, and thy son1121, and thy son's1121 son1121 also: for thou hast delivered3467 us from the hand3027 of Midian4080.
23And Gideon1439 said559 unto them, I will not rule4910 over you, neither shall my son1121 rule4910 over you: the LORD3068 shall rule4910 over you.
24And Gideon1439 said559 unto them, I would desire7592 a request7596 of you, that ye would give5414 me every man376 the earrings5141 of his prey7998. (For they had golden2091 earrings5141, because they were Ishmaelites3459.)
25And they answered559, We will willingly5414 give5414 them. And they spread6566 a garment8071, and did cast7993 therein every man376 the earrings5141 of his prey7998.

27And Gideon1439 made6213 an ephod646 thereof, and put3322 it in his city5892, even in Ophrah6084: and all Israel3478 went thither a whoring2181 after310 it: which thing became a snare4170 unto Gideon1439, and to his house1004.
28Thus was Midian4080 subdued3665 before6440 the children1121 of Israel3478, so that they lifted up5375 their heads7218 no more3254. And the country776 was in quietness8252 forty705 years8141 in the days3117 of Gideon1439.
29And Jerubbaal3378 the son1121 of Joash3101 went3212 and dwelt3427 in his own house1004.
30And Gideon1439 had threescore and ten7657 sons1121 of his body3409 begotten3318: for he had many7227 wives802.
31And his concubine6370 that was in Shechem7927, she also bare3205 him a son1121, whose name8034 he called7760 Abimelech40.
32And Gideon1439 the son1121 of Joash3101 died4191 in a good2896 old age7872, and was buried6912 in the sepulchre6913 of Joash3101 his father1, in Ophrah6084 of the Abiezrites33.
33And it came to pass, as soon as Gideon1439 was dead4191, that the children1121 of Israel3478 turned again7725, and went a whoring2181 after310 Baalim1168, and made7760 Baalberith1170 their god430.
34And the children1121 of Israel3478 remembered2142 not the LORD3068 their God430, who had delivered5337 them out of the hands3027 of all their enemies341 on every side5439:
35Neither shewed6213 they kindness2617 to the house1004 of Jerubbaal3378, namely, Gideon1439, according to all the goodness2896 which he had shewed6213 unto Israel3478.
