O Yahweh, thou God to whom vengeance belongeth,
Lift up thyself, thou judge of the earth:
Yahweh, how long shall the wicked,
They prate, they speak arrogantly:
They break in pieces thy people, O Yahweh,
They slay the widow and the sojourner,
And they say, Yahweh will not see,
Consider, ye brutish among the people; And ye fools, when will ye be wise?
He that planted the ear, shall he not hear?
He that chastiseth the nations, shall not he correct,
Yahweh knoweth the thoughts of man,
Blessed is the man whom thou chastenest, O Yahweh,
That thou mayest give him rest from the days of adversity,
For Yahweh will not cast off his people,
For judgment shall return unto righteousness; And all the upright in heart shall follow it.
Who will rise up for me against the evil-doers?
Unless Yahweh had been my help,
When I said, My foot slippeth; Thy lovingkindness, O Yahweh, held me up.
In the multitude of my thoughts within me
Shall the throne of wickedness have fellowship with thee,
They gather themselves together against the soul of the righteous,
But Yahweh hath been my high tower,
And he hath brought upon them their own iniquity,
