2But Jonathan3083 Saul's7586 son1121 delighted2654 much3966 in David1732: and Jonathan3083 told5046 David1732, saying559, Saul7586 my father1 seeketh1245 to kill4191 thee: now therefore, I pray thee, take heed8104 to thyself until the morning1242, and abide3427 in a secret5643 place, and hide2244 thyself:
3And I will go out3318 and stand5975 beside3027 my father1 in the field7704 where thou art, and I will commune1696 with my father1 of thee; and what4100 I see7200, that I will tell5046 thee.
4And Jonathan3083 spake1696 good2896 of David1732 unto Saul7586 his father1, and said559 unto him, Let not the king4428 sin2398 against his servant5650, against David1732; because he hath not sinned2398 against thee, and because his works4639 have been to thee-ward very3966 good2896:

6And Saul7586 hearkened8085 unto the voice6963 of Jonathan3083: and Saul7586 sware7650, As the LORD3068 liveth2416, he shall not518 be slain4191.
7And Jonathan3083 called7121 David1732, and Jonathan3083 shewed5046 him all those things1697. And Jonathan3083 brought935 David1732 to Saul7586, and he was in his presence6440, as in times past865 8032.
8And there was war4421 again3254: and David1732 went out3318, and fought3898 with the Philistines6430, and slew5221 them with a great1419 slaughter4347; and they fled5127 from6440 him.
9And the evil7451 spirit7307 from the LORD3068 was upon Saul7586, as he sat3427 in his house1004 with his javelin2595 in his hand3027: and David1732 played5059 with his hand3027.
10And Saul7586 sought1245 to smite5221 David1732 even to the wall7023 with the javelin2595; but he slipped away6362 out of Saul's7586 presence6440, and he smote5221 the javelin2595 into the wall7023: and David1732 fled5127, and escaped4422 that night3915.
11Saul7586 also sent7971 messengers4397 unto David's1732 house1004, to watch8104 him, and to slay4191 him in the morning1242: and Michal4324 David's1732 wife802 told5046 him, saying559, If thou save4422 not thy life5315 to night3915, to morrow4279 thou shalt be slain4191.
12So Michal4324 let3381 David1732 down3381 through a window2474: and he went3212, and fled1272, and escaped4422.
13And Michal4324 took3947 an image8655, and laid7760 it in the bed4296, and put7760 a pillow3523 of goats'5795 hair for his bolster4763, and covered3680 it with a cloth899.
14And when Saul7586 sent7971 messengers4397 to take3947 David1732, she said559, He is sick2470.
15And Saul7586 sent7971 the messengers4397 again to see7200 David1732, saying559, Bring him up5927 to me in the bed4296, that I may slay4191 him.
16And when the messengers4397 were come in935, behold, there was an image8655 in the bed4296, with a pillow3523 of goats'5795 hair for his bolster4763.
17And Saul7586 said559 unto Michal4324, Why hast thou deceived me so7411, and sent away7971 mine enemy341, that he is escaped4422? And Michal4324 answered559 Saul7586, He said559 unto me, Let me go7971; why should I kill4191 thee?
18So David1732 fled1272, and escaped4422, and came935 to Samuel8050 to Ramah7414, and told5046 him all that Saul7586 had done6213 to him. And he and Samuel8050 went3212 and dwelt3427 in Naioth5121.
19And it was told5046 Saul7586, saying559, Behold, David1732 is at Naioth5121 in Ramah7414.
20And Saul7586 sent7971 messengers4397 to take3947 David1732: and when they saw7200 the company3862 of the prophets5030 prophesying5012, and Samuel8050 standing5975 as appointed5324 over them, the Spirit7307 of God430 was upon the messengers4397 of Saul7586, and they also prophesied5012.
21And when it was told5046 Saul7586, he sent7971 other312 messengers4397, and they prophesied5012 likewise. And Saul7586 sent7971 messengers4397 again3254 the third7992 time, and they prophesied5012 also.
22Then went3212 he also to Ramah7414, and came935 to a great1419 well953 that is in Sechu7906: and he asked7592 and said559, Where375 are Samuel8050 and David1732? And one said559, Behold, they be at Naioth5121 in Ramah7414.
23And he went3212 thither to Naioth5121 in Ramah7414: and the Spirit7307 of God430 was upon him also, and he went3212 on1980, and prophesied5012, until he came935 to Naioth5121 in Ramah7414.
24And he stripped off6584 his clothes899 also1571, and prophesied5012 before6440 Samuel8050 in like manner, and lay down5307 naked6174 all that day3117 and all that night3915. Wherefore they say559, Is Saul7586 also among the prophets5030?
