2And it came to pass at that time3117, when Eli5941 was laid down7901 in his place4725, and his eyes5869 began2490 to wax dim3544, that he could3201 not see7200;
3And ere the lamp5216 of God430 went out3518 in the temple1964 of the LORD3068, where the ark727 of God430 was, and Samuel8050 was laid down7901 to sleep;
4That the LORD3068 called7121 Samuel8050: and he answered559, Here am I.
5And he ran7323 unto Eli5941, and said559, Here am I2009; for thou calledst7121 me. And he said559, I called7121 not; lie down7901 again7725. And he went3212 and lay down7901.
6And the LORD3068 called7121 yet again3254, Samuel8050. And Samuel8050 arose6965 and went3212 to Eli5941, and said559, Here am I; for thou didst call7121 me. And he answered559, I called7121 not, my son1121; lie down7901 again7725.
7Now Samuel8050 did not yet2962 know3045 the LORD3068, neither was the word1697 of the LORD3068 yet revealed1540 unto him.
8And the LORD3068 called7121 Samuel8050 again3254 the third time7992. And he arose6965 and went3212 to Eli5941, and said559, Here am I; for thou didst call7121 me. And Eli5941 perceived995 that the LORD3068 had called7121 the child5288.
9Therefore Eli5941 said559 unto Samuel8050, Go3212, lie down7901: and it shall be, if he call7121 thee, that thou shalt say559, Speak1696, LORD3068; for thy servant5650 heareth8085. So Samuel8050 went3212 and lay down7901 in his place4725.
10And the LORD3068 came935, and stood3320, and called7121 as at other times6471, Samuel8050, Samuel8050. Then Samuel8050 answered559, Speak1696; for thy servant5650 heareth8085.
11And the LORD3068 said559 to Samuel8050, Behold, I will do6213 a thing1697 in Israel3478, at which both8147 the ears241 of every one that heareth8085 it shall tingle6750.
12In that day3117 I will perform6965 against Eli5941 all things which I have spoken1696 concerning413 his house1004: when I begin2490, I will also make an end3615.
13For I have told5046 him that I will judge8199 his house1004 for5704 ever5769 for the iniquity5771 which he knoweth3045; because his sons1121 made themselves vile7043, and he restrained3543 them not.
14And therefore I have sworn7650 unto the house1004 of Eli5941, that the iniquity5771 of Eli's5941 house1004 shall not be purged3722 with sacrifice2077 nor offering4503 for5704 ever5769.
15And Samuel8050 lay7901 until the morning1242, and opened6605 the doors1817 of the house1004 of the LORD3068. And Samuel8050 feared3372 to shew5046 Eli5941 the vision4759.
16Then Eli5941 called7121 Samuel8050, and said559, Samuel8050, my son1121. And he answered559, Here am I.
17And he said559, What is the thing1697 that the LORD hath said1696 unto thee? I pray thee hide3582 it not from me: God430 do so6213 to thee, and more also3254, if thou hide3582 any thing1697 from me of all the things1697 that he said1696 unto thee.
18And Samuel8050 told5046 him every whit1697, and hid3582 nothing from him. And he said559, It is the LORD3068: let him do6213 what seemeth5869 him good2896.
19And Samuel8050 grew1431, and the LORD3068 was with him, and did let none of his words1697 fall5307 to the ground776.
20And all Israel3478 from Dan1835 even to Beersheba884 knew3045 that Samuel8050 was established539 to be a prophet5030 of the LORD3068.
21And the LORD3068 appeared7200 again3254 in Shiloh7887: for the LORD3068 revealed1540 himself to Samuel8050 in Shiloh7887 by the word1697 of the LORD3068.
