2And the sign226 or the wonder4159 come to pass935, whereof he spake1696 unto thee, saying559, Let us go3212 after310 other312 gods430, which thou hast not known3045, and let us serve5647 them;
3Thou shalt not hearken8085 unto the words1697 of that prophet5030, or that dreamer2492 of dreams2472: for the LORD3068 your God430 proveth5254 you, to know3045 whether ye3426 love157 the LORD3068 your God430 with all your heart3824 and with all your soul5315.
4Ye shall walk3212 after310 the LORD3068 your God430, and fear3372 him, and keep8104 his commandments4687, and obey8085 his voice6963, and ye shall serve5647 him, and cleave1692 unto him.
5And that prophet5030, or that dreamer2492 of dreams2472, shall be put to death4191; because he hath spoken1696 to turn5627 you away from the LORD3068 your God430, which brought you out3318 of the land776 of Egypt4714, and redeemed6299 you out of the house1004 of bondage5650, to thrust5080 thee out of the way1870 which the LORD3068 thy God430 commanded6680 thee to walk in3212. So shalt thou put1197 the evil7451 away1197 from the midst7130 of thee.
6If thy brother251, the son1121 of thy mother517, or thy son1121, or thy daughter1323, or the wife802 of thy bosom2436, or thy friend7453, which is as thine own soul5315, entice5496 thee secretly5643, saying559, Let us go3212 and serve5647 other312 gods430, which thou hast not known3045, thou, nor thy fathers1;
7Namely, of the gods430 of the people5971 which are round about5439 you, nigh7138 unto thee, or far off7350 from thee, from the one end7097 of the earth776 even unto the other end7097 of the earth776;
8Thou shalt not consent14 unto him, nor hearken8085 unto him; neither shall thine eye5869 pity2347 him, neither shalt thou spare2550, neither shalt thou conceal3680 him:
9But thou shalt surely2026 kill2026 him; thine hand3027 shall be first7223 upon him to put him to death4191, and afterwards314 the hand3027 of all the people5971.
10And thou shalt stone5619 him with stones68, that he die4191; because he hath sought1245 to thrust thee away5080 from the LORD3068 thy God430, which brought thee out3318 of the land776 of Egypt4714, from the house1004 of bondage5650.
11And all Israel3478 shall hear8085, and fear3372, and shall do6213 no more3254 any1697 such wickedness7451 as this is among7130 you.
12If thou shalt hear8085 say in one259 of thy cities5892, which the LORD3068 thy God430 hath given5414 thee to dwell3427 there, saying559,
13Certain men582, the children1121 of Belial1100, are gone out3318 from among7130 you, and have withdrawn5080 the inhabitants3427 of their city5892, saying559, Let us go3212 and serve5647 other312 gods430, which ye have not known3045;
14Then shalt thou enquire1875, and make search2713, and ask7592 diligently3190; and, behold, if it be truth571, and the thing1697 certain3559, that such2063 abomination8441 is wrought6213 among7130 you;
15Thou shalt surely5221 smite5221 the inhabitants3427 of that city5892 with the edge6310 of the sword2719, destroying it utterly2763, and all that is therein, and the cattle929 thereof, with the edge6310 of the sword2719.
16And thou shalt gather6908 all the spoil7998 of it into the midst8432 of the street7339 thereof, and shalt burn8313 with fire784 the city5892, and all the spoil7998 thereof every whit3632, for the LORD3068 thy God430: and it shall be an heap8510 for ever5769; it shall not be built again1129.
17And there shall cleave1692 nought3972 of the cursed thing2764 to thine hand3027: that the LORD3068 may turn7725 from the fierceness2740 of his anger639, and shew5414 thee mercy7356, and have compassion7355 upon thee, and multiply7235 thee, as he hath sworn7650 unto thy fathers1;
18When thou shalt hearken8085 to the voice6963 of the LORD3068 thy God430, to keep8104 all his commandments4687 which I command6680 thee this day3117, to do6213 that which is right3477 in the eyes5869 of the LORD3068 thy God430.
