And it came to pass in the eleventh6249 6240 year8141, in the first259 day of the month2320, that the word1697 of the LORD3068 came unto me, saying559,
Son1121 of man120, because that Tyrus6865 hath said559 against Jerusalem3389, Aha1889, she is broken7665 that was the gates1817 of the people5971: she is turned5437 unto me: I shall be replenished4390, now she is laid waste2717:
Therefore thus saith559 the Lord136 GOD3069; Behold, I am against thee, O Tyrus6865, and will cause many7227 nations1471 to come up5927 against thee, as the sea3220 causeth his waves1530 to come up5927.
And they shall destroy7843 the walls2346 of Tyrus6865, and break down2040 her towers4026: I will also scrape5500 her dust6083 from her, and make5414 her like the top6706 of a rock5553.
It shall be a place for the spreading4894 of nets2764 in the midst8432 of the sea3220: for I have spoken1696 it, saith5002 the Lord136 GOD3069: and it shall become a spoil957 to the nations1471.
And her daughters1323 which are in the field7704 shall be slain2026 by the sword2719; and they shall know3045 that I am the LORD3068.
For thus saith559 the Lord136 GOD3069; Behold, I will bring935 upon Tyrus6865 Nebuchadrezzar5019 king4428 of Babylon894, a king4428 of kings4428, from the north6828, with horses5483, and with chariots7393, and with horsemen6571, and companies6951, and much7227 people5971.
He shall slay2026 with the sword2719 thy daughters1323 in the field7704: and he shall make5414 a fort1785 against thee, and cast8210 a mount5550 against thee, and lift up6965 the buckler6793 against thee.
And he shall set5414 engines4239 of war6904 against thy walls2346, and with his axes2719 he shall break down5422 thy towers4026.
By reason of the abundance8229 of his horses5483 their dust80 shall cover3680 thee: thy walls2346 shall shake7493 at the noise6963 of the horsemen6571, and of the wheels1534, and of the chariots7393, when he shall enter935 into thy gates8179, as men enter3996 into a city5892 wherein is made a breach1234.
With the hoofs6541 of his horses5483 shall he tread down7429 all thy streets2351: he shall slay2026 thy people5971 by the sword2719, and thy strong5797 garrisons4676 shall go down3381 to the ground776.
And they shall make a spoil7997 of thy riches2428, and make a prey962 of thy merchandise7404: and they shall break down2040 thy walls2346, and destroy5422 thy pleasant2532 houses1004: and they shall lay7760 thy stones68 and thy timber6086 and thy dust6083 in the midst8432 of the water4325.
And I will cause the noise1995 of thy songs7892 to cease7673; and the sound6963 of thy harps3658 shall be no more heard8085.
And I will make5414 thee like the top6706 of a rock5553: thou shalt be a place to spread4894 nets2764 upon4894; thou shalt be built1129 no more: for I the LORD3068 have spoken1696 it, saith5002 the Lord136 GOD3069.
Thus saith559 the Lord136 GOD3069 to Tyrus6865; Shall not the isles339 shake7493 at the sound6963 of thy fall4658, when the wounded2491 cry602, when the slaughter2027 is made2026 in the midst8432 of thee?
Then all the princes5387 of the sea3220 shall come down3381 from their thrones3678, and lay away5493 their robes4598, and put off6584 their broidered7553 garments899: they shall clothe3847 themselves with trembling2731; they shall sit3427 upon the ground776, and shall tremble2729 at every moment7281, and be astonished8074 at thee.
And they shall take up5375 a lamentation7015 for thee, and say559 to thee, How art thou destroyed6, that wast inhabited3427 of seafaring men3220, the renowned1984 city5892, which wast strong2389 in the sea3220, she and her inhabitants3427, which cause5414 their terror2851 to be on all that haunt3427 it!
Now shall the isles339 tremble2729 in the day3117 of thy fall4658; yea, the isles339 that are in the sea3220 shall be troubled926 at thy departure3318.
For thus saith559 the Lord136 GOD3069; When I shall make5414 thee a desolate2717 city5892, like the cities5892 that are not inhabited3427; when I shall bring up5927 the deep8415 upon thee, and great7227 waters4325 shall cover3680 thee;
When I shall bring thee down3381 with them that descend3381 into the pit953, with the people5971 of old time5769, and shall set3427 thee in the low parts8482 of the earth776, in places desolate2723 of old5769, with them that go down3381 to the pit953, that thou be not inhabited3427; and I shall set5414 glory6643 in the land776 of the living2416;
I will make5414 thee a terror1091, and thou shalt be no more: though thou be sought for1245, yet shalt thou never5769 be found4672 again, saith5002 the Lord136 GOD3069.
