In those days3117 was Hezekiah2396 sick2470 unto death4191. And Isaiah3470 the prophet5030 the son1121 of Amoz531 came935 unto him, and said559 unto him, Thus saith559 the LORD3068, Set thine house1004 in order6680: for thou shalt die4191, and not live2421.
Then Hezekiah2396 turned5437 his face6440 toward the wall7023, and prayed6419 unto the LORD3068,
And said559, Remember2142 now, O LORD3068, I beseech577 thee, how I have walked1980 before6440 thee in truth571 and with a perfect8003 heart3820, and have done6213 that which is good2896 in thy sight5869. And Hezekiah2396 wept1058 1065 sore1419.
Then came the word1697 of the LORD3068 to Isaiah3470, saying559,
Go1980, and say559 to Hezekiah2396, Thus saith559 the LORD3068, the God430 of David1732 thy father1, I have heard8085 thy prayer8605, I have seen7200 thy tears1832: behold, I will add3254 unto thy days3117 fifteen2568 6240 years8141.
And I will deliver5337 thee and this city5892 out of the hand3709 of the king4428 of Assyria804: and I will defend1598 this city5892.
And this shall be a sign226 unto thee from the LORD3068, that the LORD3068 will do6213 this thing1697 that he hath spoken1696;
Behold, I will bring again7725 the shadow6738 of the degrees4609, which is gone down3381 in the sun8121 dial4609 of Ahaz271, ten6235 degrees4609 backward322. So the sun8121 returned7725 ten6235 degrees4609, by which degrees4609 it was gone down3381.
The writing4385 of Hezekiah2396 king4428 of Judah3063, when he had been sick2470, and was recovered2421 of his sickness2483:
I said559 in the cutting off1824 of my days3117, I shall go3212 to the gates8179 of the grave7585: I am deprived6485 of the residue3499 of my years8141.
I said559, I shall not see7200 the LORD3050, even the LORD3050, in the land776 of the living2416: I shall behold5027 man120 no more with the inhabitants3427 of the world2309.
Mine age1755 is departed5265, and is removed1540 from me as a shepherd's7473 tent168: I have cut off7088 like a weaver707 my life2416: he will cut me off1214 with pining sickness1803: from day3117 even to night3915 wilt thou make an end7999 of me.
I reckoned7737 till morning1242, that, as a lion738, so will he break7665 all my bones6106: from day3117 even to night3915 wilt thou make an end7999 of me.
Like a crane5483 or a swallow5693, so did I chatter6850: I did mourn1897 as a dove3123: mine eyes5869 fail1809 with looking upward4791: O LORD3068, I am oppressed6234; undertake6148 for me.
What shall I say1696? he hath both spoken559 unto me, and himself hath done6213 it: I shall go softly1718 all my years8141 in the bitterness4751 of my soul5315.
O Lord136, by these things men live2421, and in all these things is the life2416 of my spirit7307: so wilt thou recover2492 me, and make me to live2421.
Behold, for peace7965 I had great bitterness4751 4843: but thou hast in love2836 to my soul5315 delivered it from the pit7845 of corruption1097: for thou hast cast7993 all my sins2399 behind310 thy back1460.
For the grave7585 cannot praise3034 thee, death4194 can not celebrate1984 thee: they that go down3381 into the pit953 cannot hope7663 for thy truth571.
The living2416, the living2416, he shall praise3034 thee, as I do this day3117: the father1 to the children1121 shall make known3045 thy truth571.
The LORD3068 was ready to save3467 me: therefore we will sing my songs5058 to the stringed instruments5059 all the days3117 of our life2416 in the house1004 of the LORD3068.
For Isaiah3470 had said559, Let them take5375 a lump1690 of figs8384, and lay it for a plaister4799 upon the boil7822, and he shall recover2421.
Hezekiah2396 also had said559, What is the sign226 that I shall go up5927 to the house1004 of the LORD3068?
