Thus saith559 the LORD3068 unto me, Go1980 and get7069 thee a linen6593 girdle232, and put7760 it upon thy loins4975, and put935 it not in water4325.
So I got7069 a girdle232 according to the word1697 of the LORD3068, and put7760 it on my loins4975.
And the word1697 of the LORD3068 came unto me the second time8145, saying559,
Take3947 the girdle232 that thou hast got7069, which is upon thy loins4975, and arise6965, go3212 to Euphrates6578, and hide2934 it there in a hole5357 of the rock5553.
So I went3212, and hid2934 it by Euphrates6578, as the LORD3068 commanded6680 me.
And it came to pass after7093 many7227 days3117, that the LORD3068 said559 unto me, Arise6965, go3212 to Euphrates6578, and take3947 the girdle232 from thence, which I commanded6680 thee to hide2934 there.
Then I went3212 to Euphrates6578, and digged2658, and took3947 the girdle232 from the place4725 where I had hid2934 it: and, behold, the girdle232 was marred7843, it was profitable6743 for nothing.
Then the word1697 of the LORD3068 came unto me, saying559,
Thus saith559 the LORD3068, After this manner will I mar7843 the pride1347 of Judah3063, and the great7227 pride1347 of Jerusalem3389.
This evil7451 people5971, which refuse3987 to hear8085 my words1697, which walk1980 in the imagination8307 of their heart3820, and walk3212 after310 other312 gods430, to serve5647 them, and to worship7812 them, shall even be as this girdle232, which is good6743 for nothing.
For as the girdle232 cleaveth1692 to the loins4975 of a man376, so have I caused to cleave1692 unto me the whole house1004 of Israel3478 and the whole house1004 of Judah3063, saith5002 the LORD3068; that they might be unto me for a people5971, and for a name8034, and for a praise8416, and for a glory8597: but they would not hear8085.
Therefore thou shalt speak559 unto them this word1697; Thus saith559 the LORD3068 God430 of Israel3478, Every bottle5035 shall be filled4390 with wine3196: and they shall say559 unto thee, Do we not certainly3045 know3045 that every bottle5035 shall be filled4390 with wine3196?
Then shalt thou say559 unto them, Thus saith559 the LORD3068, Behold, I will fill4390 all the inhabitants3427 of this land776, even the kings4428 that sit3427 upon David's1732 throne3678, and the priests3548, and the prophets5030, and all the inhabitants3427 of Jerusalem3389, with drunkenness7943.
And I will dash5310 them one376 against another251, even the fathers1 and the sons1121 together3162, saith5002 the LORD3068: I will not pity2550, nor spare2347, nor have mercy7355, but destroy7843 them.
Hear8085 ye, and give ear238; be not proud1361: for the LORD3068 hath spoken1696.
Give5414 glory3519 to the LORD3068 your God430, before he cause darkness2821, and before your feet7272 stumble5062 upon the dark5399 mountains2022, and, while ye look6960 for light216, he turn7760 it into the shadow of death6757, and make7896 7896 it gross darkness6205.
But if ye will not hear8085 it, my soul5315 shall weep1058 in secret places4565 for6440 your pride1466; and mine eye5869 shall weep1830 sore1830, and run down3381 with tears1832, because the LORD'S3068 flock5739 is carried away captive7617.
Say559 unto the king4428 and to the queen1377, Humble8213 yourselves, sit down3427: for your principalities4761 shall come down3381, even the crown5850 of your glory8597.
The cities5892 of the south5045 shall be shut up5462, and none shall open6605 them: Judah3063 shall be carried away captive1540 all of it, it shall be wholly7965 carried away captive1540.
Lift up5375 your eyes5869, and behold7200 them that come935 from the north6828: where is the flock5739 that was given5414 thee, thy beautiful8597 flock6629?
What wilt thou say559 when he shall punish6485 thee? for thou hast taught3925 them to be captains441, and as chief7218 over thee: shall not sorrows2256 take270 thee, as a woman802 in travail3205?
And if thou say559 in thine heart3824, Wherefore come7122 these things upon me? For the greatness7230 of thine iniquity5771 are thy skirts7757 discovered1540, and thy heels6119 made bare2554.
Can the Ethiopian3569 change2015 his skin5785, or the leopard5246 his spots2272? then may3201 ye also do good3190, that are accustomed3928 to do evil7489.
Therefore will I scatter6327 them as the stubble7179 that passeth away5674 by the wind7307 of the wilderness4057.
This is thy lot1486, the portion4490 of thy measures4055 from me, saith5002 the LORD3068; because thou hast forgotten7911 me, and trusted982 in falsehood8267.
Therefore will I discover2834 thy skirts7757 upon thy face6440, that thy shame7036 may appear7200.
I have seen7200 thine adulteries5004, and thy neighings4684, the lewdness2154 of thy whoredom2184, and thine abominations8251 on the hills1389 in the fields7704. Woe188 unto thee, O Jerusalem3389! wilt thou not be made clean2891? when shall it once5750 310 be?
