2For then the king4428 of Babylon's894 army2428 besieged6696 Jerusalem3389: and Jeremiah3414 the prophet5030 was shut up3607 in the court2691 of the prison4307, which was in the king4428 of Judah's3063 house1004.
3For Zedekiah6667 king4428 of Judah3063 had shut him up3607, saying559, Wherefore dost thou prophesy5012, and say559, Thus saith559 the LORD3068, Behold, I will give5414 this city5892 into the hand3027 of the king4428 of Babylon894, and he shall take3920 it;
4And Zedekiah6667 king4428 of Judah3063 shall not escape4422 out of the hand3027 of the Chaldeans3778, but shall surely5414 be delivered5414 into the hand3027 of the king4428 of Babylon894, and shall speak1696 with him mouth6310 to mouth6310, and his eyes5869 shall behold7200 his eyes5869;
5And he shall lead3212 Zedekiah6667 to Babylon894, and there shall he be until I visit6485 him, saith5002 the LORD3068: though ye fight3898 with the Chaldeans3778, ye shall not prosper6743.
6And Jeremiah3414 said559, The word1697 of the LORD3068 came unto me, saying559,
7Behold, Hanameel2601 the son1121 of Shallum7967 thine uncle1730 shall come935 unto thee, saying559, Buy7069 thee my field7704 that is in Anathoth6068: for the right4941 of redemption1353 is thine to buy7069 it.
8So Hanameel2601 mine uncle's1730 son1121 came935 to me in the court2691 of the prison4307 according to the word1697 of the LORD3068, and said559 unto me, Buy7069 my field7704, I pray thee, that is in Anathoth6068, which is in the country776 of Benjamin1144: for the right4941 of inheritance3425 is thine, and the redemption1353 is thine; buy7069 it for thyself. Then I knew3045 that this was the word1697 of the LORD3068.
9And I bought7069 the field7704 of Hanameel2601 my uncle's1730 son1121, that was in Anathoth6068, and weighed8254 him the money3701, even seventeen7651 6235 shekels8255 of silver3701.
10And I subscribed3789 the evidence5612, and sealed2856 it, and took5749 witnesses5707, and weighed8254 him the money3701 in the balances3976.
11So I took3947 the evidence5612 of the purchase4736, both that which was sealed2856 according to the law4687 and custom2706, and that which was open1540:
12And I gave5414 the evidence5612 of the purchase4736 unto Baruch1263 the son1121 of Neriah5374, the son1121 of Maaseiah4271, in the sight5869 of Hanameel2601 mine uncle's1730 son, and in the presence5869 of the witnesses5707 that subscribed3789 the book5612 of the purchase4736, before5869 all the Jews3064 that sat3427 in the court2691 of the prison4307.
13And I charged6680 Baruch1263 before5869 them, saying559,
14Thus saith559 the LORD3068 of hosts6635, the God430 of Israel3478; Take3947 these evidences5612, this evidence5612 of the purchase4736, both which is sealed2856, and this evidence5612 which is open1540; and put5414 them in an earthen2789 vessel3627, that they may continue5975 many7227 days3117.
15For thus saith559 the LORD3068 of hosts6635, the God430 of Israel3478; Houses1004 and fields7704 and vineyards3754 shall be possessed again7069 in this land776.
16Now when310 I had delivered5414 the evidence5612 of the purchase4736 unto Baruch1263 the son1121 of Neriah5374, I prayed6419 unto the LORD3068, saying559,
17Ah162 Lord136 GOD3069! behold, thou hast made6213 the heaven8064 and the earth776 by thy great1419 power3581 and stretched out5186 arm2220, and there is nothing1697 too hard6381 for thee:
18Thou shewest6213 lovingkindness2617 unto thousands505, and recompensest7999 the iniquity5771 of the fathers1 into the bosom2436 of their children1121 after310 them: the Great1419, the Mighty1368 God410, the LORD3068 of hosts6635, is his name8034,
19Great1419 in counsel6098, and mighty7227 in work5950: for thine eyes5869 are open6491 upon all the ways1870 of the sons1121 of men120: to give5414 every one376 according to his ways1870, and according to the fruit6529 of his doings4611:

26Then came the word1697 of the LORD3068 unto Jeremiah3414, saying559,
27Behold, I am the LORD3068, the God430 of all flesh1320: is there any thing1697 too hard6381 for me?
28Therefore thus saith559 the LORD3068; Behold, I will give5414 this city5892 into the hand3027 of the Chaldeans3778, and into the hand3027 of Nebuchadrezzar5019 king4428 of Babylon894, and he shall take3920 it:
29And the Chaldeans3778, that fight3898 against this city5892, shall come935 and set3341 fire784 on this city5892, and burn8313 it with the houses1004, upon whose roofs1406 they have offered incense6999 unto Baal1168, and poured out5258 drink offerings5262 unto other312 gods430, to provoke me to anger3707.
30For the children1121 of Israel3478 and the children1121 of Judah3063 have only done6213 evil7451 before5869 me from their youth5271: for the children1121 of Israel3478 have only provoked me to anger3707 with the work4639 of their hands3027, saith5002 the LORD3068.
31For this city5892 hath been to me as a provocation of mine anger639 and of my fury2534 from the day3117 that they built1129 it even unto this day3117; that I should remove5493 it from before my face6440,
32Because of all the evil7451 of the children1121 of Israel3478 and of the children1121 of Judah3063, which they have done6213 to provoke me to anger3707, they, their kings4428, their princes8269, their priests3548, and their prophets5030, and the men376 of Judah3063, and the inhabitants3427 of Jerusalem3389.
33And they have turned6437 unto me the back6203, and not the face6440: though I taught3925 them, rising up early7925 and teaching3925 them, yet they have not hearkened8085 to receive3947 instruction4148.
34But they set7760 their abominations8251 in the house1004, which is called7121 by my name8034, to defile2930 it.
35And they built1129 the high places1116 of Baal1168, which are in the valley1516 of the son1121 of Hinnom2011, to cause their sons1121 and their daughters1323 to pass5674 through the fire unto Molech4432; which I commanded6680 them not, neither came5927 it into my mind3820, that they should do6213 this abomination8441, to cause Judah3063 to sin2398.
36And now therefore thus saith559 the LORD3068, the God430 of Israel3478, concerning this city5892, whereof ye say559, It shall be delivered5414 into the hand3027 of the king4428 of Babylon894 by the sword2719, and by the famine7458, and by the pestilence1698;
37Behold, I will gather them out6908 of all countries776, whither I have driven5080 them in mine anger639, and in my fury2534, and in great1419 wrath7110; and I will bring them again7725 unto this place4725, and I will cause them to dwell3427 safely983:
38And they shall be my people5971, and I will be their God430:

44Men shall buy7069 fields7704 for money3701, and subscribe3789 evidences5612, and seal2856 them, and take5749 witnesses5707 in the land776 of Benjamin1144, and in the places about5439 Jerusalem3389, and in the cities5892 of Judah3063, and in the cities5892 of the mountains2022, and in the cities5892 of the valley8219, and in the cities5892 of the south5045: for I will cause their captivity7622 to return7725, saith5002 the LORD3068.
