2Thus saith559 the LORD3068 of hosts6635, the God430 of Israel3478; Ye have seen7200 all the evil7451 that I have brought935 upon Jerusalem3389, and upon all the cities5892 of Judah3063; and, behold, this day3117 they are a desolation2723, and no man dwelleth3427 therein,
3Because6440 of their wickedness7451 which they have committed6213 to provoke me to anger3707, in that they went3212 to burn incense6999, and to serve5647 other312 gods430, whom they knew3045 not, neither they, ye, nor your fathers1.
4Howbeit I sent7971 unto you all my servants5650 the prophets5030, rising early7925 and sending7971 them, saying559, Oh, do6213 not this abominable8441 thing1697 that I hate8130.
5But they hearkened8085 not, nor inclined5186 their ear241 to turn7725 from their wickedness7451, to burn no incense6999 unto other312 gods430.
6Wherefore my fury2534 and mine anger639 was poured forth5413, and was kindled1197 in the cities5892 of Judah3063 and in the streets2351 of Jerusalem3389; and they are wasted2723 and desolate8077, as at this day3117.
7Therefore now thus saith559 the LORD3068, the God430 of hosts6635, the God430 of Israel3478; Wherefore commit6213 ye this great1419 evil7451 against your souls5315, to cut off3772 from you man376 and woman802, child5768 and suckling3243, out8432 of Judah3063, to leave3498 you none to remain7611;

9Have ye forgotten7911 the wickedness7451 of your fathers1, and the wickedness7451 of the kings4428 of Judah3063, and the wickedness7451 of their wives802, and your own wickedness7451, and the wickedness7451 of your wives802, which they have committed6213 in the land776 of Judah3063, and in the streets2351 of Jerusalem3389?
10They are not humbled1792 even unto this day3117, neither have they feared3372, nor walked1980 in my law8451, nor in my statutes2708, that I set5414 before6440 you and before6440 your fathers1.
11Therefore thus saith559 the LORD3068 of hosts6635, the God430 of Israel3478; Behold, I will set7760 my face6440 against you for evil7451, and to cut off3772 all Judah3063.
12And I will take3947 the remnant7611 of Judah3063, that have set7760 their faces6440 to go935 into the land776 of Egypt4714 to sojourn1481 there, and they shall all be consumed8552, and fall5307 in the land776 of Egypt4714; they shall even be consumed8552 by the sword2719 and by the famine7458: they shall die4191, from the least6996 even unto the greatest1419, by the sword2719 and by the famine7458: and they shall be an execration423, and an astonishment8047, and a curse7045, and a reproach2781.
13For I will punish6485 them that dwell3427 in the land776 of Egypt4714, as I have punished6485 Jerusalem3389, by the sword2719, by the famine7458, and by the pestilence1698:
14So that none of the remnant7611 of Judah3063, which are gone935 into the land776 of Egypt4714 to sojourn1481 there, shall escape6412 or remain8300, that they should return7725 into the land776 of Judah3063, to the which they have5375 a desire5315 to return7725 to dwell3427 there: for none shall return7725 but such as shall escape6405.
15Then all the men582 which knew3045 that their wives802 had burned incense6999 unto other312 gods430, and all the women802 that stood by5975, a great1419 multitude6951, even all the people5971 that dwelt3427 in the land776 of Egypt4714, in Pathros6624, answered6030 Jeremiah3414, saying559,
16As for the word1697 that thou hast spoken1696 unto us in the name8034 of the LORD3068, we will not hearken8085 unto thee.
17But we will certainly6213 do6213 whatsoever thing1697 goeth forth3318 out of our own mouth6310, to burn incense6999 unto the queen4446 of heaven8064, and to pour out5258 drink offerings5262 unto her, as we have done6213, we, and our fathers1, our kings4428, and our princes8269, in the cities5892 of Judah3063, and in the streets2351 of Jerusalem3389: for then had we plenty7646 of victuals3899, and were well2896, and saw7200 no evil7451.
18But since we left off2308 to burn incense6999 to the queen4446 of heaven8064, and to pour out5258 drink offerings5262 unto her, we have wanted2637 all things, and have been consumed8552 by the sword2719 and by the famine7458.
19And when we burned incense6999 to the queen4446 of heaven8064, and poured out5258 drink offerings5262 unto her, did we make6213 her cakes3561 to worship6087 her, and pour out5258 drink offerings5262 unto her, without1107 our men582?
20Then Jeremiah3414 said559 unto all the people5971, to the men1397, and to the women802, and to all the people5971 which had given him that answer1697 6030, saying559,
21The incense7002 that ye burned6999 in the cities5892 of Judah3063, and in the streets2351 of Jerusalem3389, ye, and your fathers1, your kings4428, and your princes8269, and the people5971 of the land776, did not the LORD3068 remember2142 them, and came5927 it not into his mind3820?
22So that the LORD3068 could3201 no longer bear5375, because6440 of the evil7455 of your doings4611, and because6440 of the abominations8441 which ye have committed6213; therefore is your land776 a desolation2723, and an astonishment8047, and a curse7045, without an inhabitant3427, as at this day3117.
23Because6440 834 ye have burned incense6999, and because ye have sinned2398 against the LORD3068, and have not obeyed8085 the voice6963 of the LORD3068, nor walked1980 in his law8451, nor in his statutes2708, nor in his testimonies5715; therefore this evil7451 is happened7122 unto you, as at this day3117.
24Moreover Jeremiah3414 said559 unto all the people5971, and to all the women802, Hear8085 the word1697 of the LORD3068, all Judah3063 that are in the land776 of Egypt4714:
25Thus saith559 the LORD3068 of hosts6635, the God430 of Israel3478, saying559; Ye and your wives802 have both spoken1696 with your mouths6310, and fulfilled4390 with your hand3027, saying559, We will surely6213 perform6213 our vows5088 that we have vowed5087, to burn incense6999 to the queen4446 of heaven8064, and to pour out5258 drink offerings5262 unto her: ye will surely6965 accomplish6965 your vows5088, and surely6213 perform6213 your vows5088.
26Therefore hear8085 ye the word1697 of the LORD3068, all Judah3063 that dwell3427 in the land776 of Egypt4714; Behold, I have sworn7650 by my great1419 name8034, saith559 the LORD3068, that my name8034 shall no more be named7121 in the mouth6310 of any man376 of Judah3063 in all the land776 of Egypt4714, saying559, The Lord136 GOD3069 liveth2416.
27Behold, I will watch8245 over them for evil7451, and not for good2896: and all the men376 of Judah3063 that are in the land776 of Egypt4714 shall be consumed8552 by the sword2719 and by the famine7458, until there be an end3615 of them.
28Yet a small4962 number4557 that escape6412 the sword2719 shall return out7725 of the land776 of Egypt4714 into the land776 of Judah3063, and all the remnant7611 of Judah3063, that are gone935 into the land776 of Egypt4714 to sojourn1481 there, shall know3045 whose words1697 shall stand6965, mine, or theirs.
29And this shall be a sign226 unto you, saith5002 the LORD3068, that I will punish6485 you in this place4725, that ye may know3045 that my words1697 shall surely6965 stand6965 against you for evil7451:
30Thus saith559 the LORD3068; Behold, I will give5414 Pharaohhophra6548 king4428 of Egypt4714 into the hand3027 of his enemies341, and into the hand3027 of them that seek1245 his life5315; as I gave5414 Zedekiah6667 king4428 of Judah3063 into the hand3027 of Nebuchadrezzar5019 king4428 of Babylon894, his enemy341, and that sought1245 his life5315.
