Howl3213, O Heshbon2809, for Ai5857 is spoiled7703: cry6817, ye daughters1323 of Rabbah7237, gird2296 you with sackcloth8242; lament5594, and run to and fro7751 by the hedges1448; for their king4428 shall go3212 into captivity1473, and his priests3548 and his princes8269 together3162. their king: or, Melcom

Wherefore gloriest1984 thou in the valleys6010, thy flowing2100 valley6010, O backsliding7728 daughter1323? that trusted982 in her treasures214, saying, Who shall come935 unto me? thy: or, thy valley floweth away

Behold, I will bring935 a fear6343 upon thee, saith5002 the Lord136 GOD3069 of hosts6635, from all those that be about5439 thee; and ye shall be driven out5080 every man376 right forth6440; and none shall gather up6908 him that wandereth5074.

And afterward310 I will bring again7725 the captivity7622 of the children1121 of Ammon5983, saith5002 the LORD3068.

Concerning Edom123, thus saith559 the LORD3068 of hosts6635; Is wisdom2451 no more in Teman8487? is counsel6098 perished6 from the prudent995? is their wisdom2451 vanished5628?

Flee5127 ye, turn back6437, dwell3427 deep6009, O inhabitants3427 of Dedan1719; for I will bring935 the calamity343 of Esau6215 upon him, the time6256 that I will visit6485 him. turn: or, they are turned back

If grapegatherers1219 come935 to thee, would they not leave7604 some gleaning grapes5955? if thieves1590 by night3915, they will destroy7843 till they have enough1767. till: Heb. their sufficiency

But I have made Esau6215 bare2834, I have uncovered1540 his secret places4565, and he shall not be able3201 to hide2247 himself: his seed2233 is spoiled7703, and his brethren251, and his neighbours7934, and he is not.

Leave5800 thy fatherless children3490, I will preserve them alive2421; and let thy widows490 trust982 in me.

For thus saith559 the LORD3068; Behold, they whose judgment4941 was not to drink8354 of the cup3563 have assuredly8354 drunken8354; and art thou he that shall altogether5352 go unpunished5352? thou shalt not go unpunished5352, but thou shalt surely8354 drink8354 of it.

For I have sworn7650 by myself, saith5002 the LORD3068, that Bozrah1224 shall become a desolation8047, a reproach2781, a waste2721, and a curse7045; and all the cities5892 thereof shall be perpetual5769 wastes2723.

I have heard8085 a rumour8052 from the LORD3068, and an ambassador6735 is sent7971 unto the heathen1471, saying, Gather ye together6908, and come935 against her, and rise up6965 to the battle4421.

For, lo, I will make5414 thee small6996 among the heathen1471, and despised959 among men120.

Thy terribleness8606 hath deceived5377 thee, and the pride2087 of thine heart3820, O thou that dwellest7931 in the clefts2288 of the rock5553, that holdest8610 the height4791 of the hill1389: though thou shouldest make thy nest7064 as high1361 as the eagle5404, I will bring thee down3381 from thence, saith5002 the LORD3068.

Also Edom123 shall be a desolation8047: every one that goeth5674 by it shall be astonished8074, and shall hiss8319 at all the plagues4347 thereof.

As in the overthrow4114 of Sodom5467 and Gomorrah6017 and the neighbour7934 cities thereof, saith559 the LORD3068, no man376 shall abide3427 there, neither shall a son1121 of man120 dwell1481 in it.

Behold, he shall come up5927 like a lion738 from the swelling1347 of Jordan3383 against the habitation5116 of the strong386: but I will suddenly7280 make him run away7323 from her: and who is a chosen977 man, that I may appoint6485 over her? for who is like me? and who will appoint me the time3259? and who is that shepherd7462 that will stand5975 before6440 me? appoint me: or, convent me in judgment?

Therefore hear8085 the counsel6098 of the LORD3068, that he hath taken3289 against Edom123; and his purposes4284, that he hath purposed2803 against the inhabitants3427 of Teman8487: Surely the least6810 of the flock6629 shall draw them out5498: surely he shall make their habitations5116 desolate8074 with them.

The earth776 is moved7493 at the noise6963 of their fall5307, at the cry6818 the noise6963 thereof was heard8085 in the Red5488 sea3220. Red sea: Heb. Weedy sea

Behold, he shall come up5927 and fly1675 as the eagle5404, and spread6566 his wings3671 over Bozrah1224: and at that day3117 shall the heart3820 of the mighty men1368 of Edom123 be as the heart3820 of a woman802 in her pangs6887.

Concerning Damascus1834. Hamath2574 is confounded954, and Arpad774: for they have heard8085 evil7451 tidings8052: they are fainthearted4127; there is sorrow1674 on the sea3220; it cannot3201 be quiet8252. fainthearted: Heb. melted on: or, as on the sea

Damascus1834 is waxed feeble7503, and turneth6437 herself to flee5127, and fear7374 hath seized2388 on her: anguish6869 and sorrows2256 have taken270 her, as a woman in travail3205.

How is the city5892 of praise8416 not left5800, the city7151 of my joy4885!

Therefore her young men970 shall fall5307 in her streets7339, and all the men582 of war4421 shall be cut off1826 in that day3117, saith5002 the LORD3068 of hosts6635.

And I will kindle3341 a fire784 in the wall2346 of Damascus1834, and it shall consume398 the palaces759 of Benhadad1130.

Concerning Kedar6938, and concerning the kingdoms4467 of Hazor2674, which Nebuchadrezzar5019 king4428 of Babylon894 shall smite5221, thus saith559 the LORD3068; Arise6965 ye, go up5927 to Kedar6938, and spoil7703 the men1121 of the east6924.

Their tents168 and their flocks6629 shall they take away3947: they shall take5375 to themselves their curtains3407, and all their vessels3627, and their camels1581; and they shall cry7121 unto them, Fear4032 is on every side5439.

Flee5127, get5110 you far off3966, dwell3427 deep6009, O ye inhabitants3427 of Hazor2674, saith5002 the LORD3068; for Nebuchadrezzar5019 king4428 of Babylon894 hath taken counsel6098 3289 against you, and hath conceived2803 a purpose4284 against you. get: Heb. flit greatly

Arise6965, get you up5927 unto the wealthy7961 nation1471, that dwelleth3427 without care983, saith5002 the LORD3068, which have neither gates1817 nor bars1280, which dwell7931 alone910. wealthy: or, that is at ease

And their camels1581 shall be a booty957, and the multitude1995 of their cattle4735 a spoil7998: and I will scatter2219 into all winds7307 them that are in the utmost7112 corners6285; and I will bring935 their calamity343 from all sides5676 thereof, saith5002 the LORD3068. in: Heb. cut off into corners, or, that have the corners of their hair polled

And Hazor2674 shall be a dwelling4583 for dragons8577, and a desolation8077 for5704 ever5769: there shall no man376 abide3427 there, nor any son1121 of man120 dwell1481 in it.

The word1697 of the LORD3068 that came to Jeremiah3414 the prophet5030 against Elam5867 in the beginning7225 of the reign4438 of Zedekiah6667 king4428 of Judah3063, saying559,

Thus saith559 the LORD3068 of hosts6635; Behold, I will break7665 the bow7198 of Elam5867, the chief7225 of their might1369.

And upon Elam5867 will I bring935 the four702 winds7307 from the four702 quarters7098 of heaven8064, and will scatter2219 them toward all those winds7307; and there shall be no nation1471 whither the outcasts5080 of Elam5867 5769 shall not come935.

For I will cause Elam5867 to be dismayed2865 before6440 their enemies341, and before6440 them that seek1245 their life5315: and I will bring935 evil7451 upon them, even my fierce2740 anger639, saith5002 the LORD3068; and I will send7971 the sword2719 after310 them, till I have consumed3615 them:

And I will set7760 my throne3678 in Elam5867, and will destroy6 from thence the king4428 and the princes8269, saith5002 the LORD3068.

But it shall come to pass in the latter319 days3117, that I will bring again7725 7725 the captivity7622 7622 of Elam5867, saith5002 the LORD3068.
