Run ye to and fro7751 through the streets2351 of Jerusalem3389, and see7200 now, and know3045, and seek1245 in the broad places7339 thereof, if ye can find4672 a man376, if there be3426 any that executeth6213 judgment4941, that seeketh1245 the truth530; and I will pardon5545 it.

And though they say559, The LORD3068 liveth2416; surely they swear7650 falsely8267.

O LORD3068, are not thine eyes5869 upon the truth530? thou hast stricken5221 them, but they have not grieved2342; thou hast consumed3615 them, but they have refused3985 to receive3947 correction4148: they have made their faces6440 harder2388 than a rock5553; they have refused3985 to return7725.

Therefore I said559, Surely these are poor1800; they are foolish2973: for they know3045 not the way1870 of the LORD3068, nor the judgment4941 of their God430.

I will get3212 me unto the great men1419, and will speak1696 unto them; for they have known3045 the way1870 of the LORD3068, and the judgment4941 of their God430: but these have altogether3162 broken7665 the yoke5923, and burst5423 the bonds4147.

Wherefore a lion738 out of the forest3293 shall slay5221 them, and a wolf2061 of the evenings6160 shall spoil7703 them, a leopard5246 shall watch8245 over their cities5892: every one that goeth out3318 thence shall2007 be torn in pieces2963: because their transgressions6588 are many7231, and their backslidings4878 are increased6105. evenings: or, deserts are increased: Heb. are strong

How335 shall I pardon5545 thee for this2063? thy children1121 have forsaken5800 me, and sworn7650 by them that are no3808 gods430: when I had fed them to the full7650, they then committed adultery5003, and assembled themselves by troops1413 in the harlots'2181 houses1004.

They were as fed2109 horses5483 in the morning7904: every one376 neighed6670 after his neighbour's7453 wife802.

Shall I not visit6485 for these things? saith5002 the LORD3068: and shall not my soul5315 be avenged5358 on such a nation1471 as this?

Go ye up5927 upon her walls8284, and destroy7843; but make6213 not a full end3617: take away5493 her battlements5189; for they are not the LORD'S3068.

For the house1004 of Israel3478 and the house1004 of Judah3063 have dealt very898 treacherously898 against me, saith5002 the LORD3068.

They have belied3584 the LORD3068, and said559, It is not he; neither shall evil7451 come935 upon us; neither shall we see7200 sword2719 nor famine7458:

And the prophets5030 shall become wind7307, and the word1696 is not in them: thus shall it be done6213 unto them.

Wherefore thus saith559 the LORD3068 God430 of hosts6635, Because ye speak1696 this word1697, behold, I will make5414 my words1697 in thy mouth6310 fire784, and this people5971 wood6086, and it shall devour398 them.

Lo, I will bring935 a nation1471 upon you from far4801, O house1004 of Israel3478, saith5002 the LORD3068: it is a mighty386 nation1471, it is an ancient5769 nation1471, a nation1471 whose language3956 thou knowest3045 not, neither understandest8085 what they say1696.

Their quiver827 is as an open6605 sepulchre6913, they are all mighty men1368.

And they shall eat up398 thine harvest7105, and thy bread3899, which thy sons1121 and thy daughters1323 should eat398: they shall eat up398 thy flocks6629 and thine herds1241: they shall eat up398 thy vines1612 and thy fig trees8384: they shall impoverish7567 thy fenced4013 cities5892, wherein thou2007 trustedst982, with the sword2719.

Nevertheless in those days3117, saith5002 the LORD3068, I will not make6213 a full end3617 with you.

And it shall come to pass, when ye shall say559, Wherefore8478 4100 doeth6213 the LORD3068 our God430 all these things unto us? then shalt thou answer559 them, Like as ye have forsaken5800 me, and served5647 strange5236 gods430 in your land776, so shall ye serve5647 strangers2114 in a land776 that is not yours.

Declare5046 this in the house1004 of Jacob3290, and publish8085 it in Judah3063, saying559,

Hear8085 now this, O foolish5530 people5971, and without understanding3820; which have eyes5869, and see7200 not; which have ears241, and hear8085 not: understanding: Heb. heart

Fear3372 ye not me? saith5002 the LORD3068: will ye not tremble2342 at my presence6440, which have placed7760 the sand2344 for the bound1366 of the sea3220 by a perpetual5769 decree2706, that it cannot pass5674 it: and though the waves1530 thereof toss1607 themselves, yet can they not prevail3201; though they roar1993, yet can they not pass over5674 it?

But this people5971 hath a revolting5637 and a rebellious4784 heart3820; they are revolted5493 and gone3212.

Neither say559 they in their heart3824, Let us now fear3372 the LORD3068 our God430, that giveth5414 rain1653, both the former3138 and the latter4456, in his season6256: he reserveth8104 unto us the appointed2708 weeks7620 of the harvest7105.

Your iniquities5771 have turned away5186 these things, and your sins2403 have withholden4513 good2896 things from you.

For among my people5971 are found4672 wicked7563 men: they lay wait7789, as he that setteth7918 snares3353; they set5324 a trap4889, they catch3920 men582. they lay: or, they pry as fowlers lie in wait

They are waxen fat8080, they shine6245: yea, they overpass5674 the deeds1697 of the wicked7451: they judge1777 not the cause1779, the cause of the fatherless3490, yet they prosper6743; and the right4941 of the needy34 do they not judge8199.

Shall I not visit6485 for these things? saith5002 the LORD3068: shall not my soul5315 be avenged5358 on such a nation1471 as this?

The prophets5030 prophesy5012 falsely8267, and the priests3548 bear rule7287 by their means3027; and my people5971 love157 to have it so: and what will ye do6213 in the end319 thereof? bear: or, take into their hands
