Then Job347 answered6030 and said559,
I have heard8085 many such things7227: miserable5999 comforters5162 are ye all.
Shall vain7307 words1697 have an end7093? or what emboldeneth4834 thee that thou answerest6030?
I also could speak1696 as ye do: if3863 your soul5315 were3426 in my soul's5315 stead, I could heap up2266 words4405 against you, and shake5128 mine head7218 at1119 you.
But I would strengthen553 you with1119 my mouth6310, and the moving5205 of my lips8193 should asswage2820 your grief.
Though I speak1696, my grief3511 is not asswaged2820: and though I forbear2308, what am I eased1980?
But now he hath made me weary3811: thou hast made desolate8074 all my company5712.
And thou hast filled me with wrinkles7059, which is a witness5707 against me: and my leanness3585 rising up6965 in me beareth witness6030 to my face6440.
He teareth2963 me in his wrath639, who hateth7852 me: he gnasheth2786 upon me with his teeth8127; mine enemy6862 sharpeneth3913 his eyes5869 upon me.
They have gaped6473 upon me with their mouth6310; they have smitten5221 me upon the cheek3895 reproachfully2781; they have gathered4390 themselves together3162 against me.
God410 hath delivered5462 me to the ungodly5760, and turned me over3399 into the hands3027 of the wicked7563.
I was at ease7961, but he hath broken me asunder6565: he hath also taken270 me by my neck6203, and shaken me to pieces6327, and set me up6965 for his mark4307.
His archers7228 compass me round about5437, he cleaveth6398 my reins3629 asunder6398, and doth not spare2550; he poureth out8210 my gall4845 upon the ground776.
He breaketh6555 me with breach6556 upon6440 breach6556, he runneth7323 upon me like a giant1368.
I have sewed8609 sackcloth8242 upon my skin1539, and defiled5953 my horn7161 in the dust6083.
My face6440 is foul2560 with weeping1065, and on my eyelids6079 is the shadow of death6757;
Not for any injustice2555 in mine hands3709: also my prayer8605 is pure2134.
O earth776, cover3680 not thou my blood1818, and let my cry2201 have no place4725.
Also now, behold, my witness5707 is in heaven8064, and my record7717 is on high4791.
My friends7453 scorn3887 me: but mine eye5869 poureth out1811 tears unto God433.
O that one might plead3198 for a man1397 with God433, as a man120 pleadeth for his neighbour1121 7453!
When a few4557 years8141 are come857, then I shall go1980 the way734 whence I shall not return7725.
