¹Elihu453 also proceeded3254, and said559,

²Suffer3803 me a little2191, and I will shew2331 thee that I have yet to speak4405 on God's433 behalf. I have: Heb. there are yet words for God

³I will fetch5375 my knowledge1843 from afar7350, and will ascribe5414 righteousness6664 to my Maker6466.

⁴For truly551 my words4405 shall not be false8267: he that is perfect8549 in knowledge1844 is with thee.

⁵Behold, God410 is mighty3524, and despiseth3988 not any: he is mighty3524 in strength3581 and wisdom3820. wisdom: Heb. heart

⁶He preserveth not the life2421 of the wicked7563: but giveth5414 right4941 to the poor6041. poor: or, afflicted

⁷He withdraweth1639 not his eyes5869 from the righteous6662: but with kings4428 are they on the throne3678; yea, he doth establish3427 them for ever5331, and they are exalted1361.

⁸And if they be bound631 in fetters2131, and be holden3920 in cords2256 of affliction6040;

⁹Then he sheweth5046 them their work6467, and their transgressions6588 that they have exceeded1396.
