4This shall be the service5656 of the sons1121 of Kohath6955 in the tabernacle168 of the congregation4150, about the most6944 holy things6944:
5And when the camp4264 setteth forward5265, Aaron175 shall come935, and his sons1121, and they shall take down3381 the covering4539 vail6532, and cover3680 the ark727 of testimony5715 with it:
6And shall put5414 thereon the covering3681 of badgers'8476 skins5785, and shall spread6566 over4605 it a cloth899 wholly3632 of blue8504, and shall put7760 in the staves905 thereof.
7And upon the table7979 of shewbread6440 they shall spread6566 a cloth899 of blue8504, and put5414 thereon the dishes7086, and the spoons3709, and the bowls4518, and covers7184 to cover withal5262: and the continual8548 bread3899 shall be thereon:

9And they shall take3947 a cloth899 of blue8504, and cover3680 the candlestick4501 of the light3974, and his lamps5216, and his tongs4457, and his snuffdishes4289, and all the oil8081 vessels3627 thereof, wherewith they minister8334 unto it:
10And they shall put5414 it and all the vessels3627 thereof within a covering4372 of badgers'8476 skins5785, and shall put5414 it upon a bar4132.

12And they shall take3947 all the instruments3627 of ministry8335, wherewith they minister8334 in the sanctuary6944, and put5414 them in a cloth899 of blue8504, and cover3680 them with a covering4372 of badgers'8476 skins5785, and shall put5414 them on a bar4132:
13And they shall take away the ashes1878 from the altar4196, and spread6566 a purple713 cloth899 thereon:
14And they shall put5414 upon it all the vessels3627 thereof, wherewith they minister8334 about it, even the censers4289, the fleshhooks4207, and the shovels3257, and the basons4219, all the vessels3627 of the altar4196; and they shall spread6566 upon it a covering3681 of badgers'8476 skins5785, and put7760 to the staves905 of it.
15And when Aaron175 and his sons1121 have made an end3615 of covering3680 the sanctuary6944, and all the vessels3627 of the sanctuary6944, as the camp4264 is to set forward5265; after310 that, the sons1121 of Kohath6955 shall come935 to bear5375 it: but they shall not touch5060 any holy thing6944, lest they die4191. These things are the burden4853 of the sons1121 of Kohath6955 in the tabernacle168 of the congregation4150.
16And to the office6486 of Eleazar499 the son1121 of Aaron175 the priest3548 pertaineth the oil8081 for the light3974, and the sweet5561 incense7004, and the daily8548 meat offering4503, and the anointing4888 oil8081, and the oversight6486 of all the tabernacle4908, and of all that therein is, in the sanctuary6944, and in the vessels3627 thereof.
17And the LORD3068 spake1696 unto Moses4872 and unto Aaron175, saying559,
18Cut ye not off3772 the tribe7626 of the families4940 of the Kohathites6956 from among8432 the Levites3881:
19But thus do6213 unto them, that they may live2421, and not die4191, when they approach5066 unto the most6944 holy things6944: Aaron175 and his sons1121 shall go in935, and appoint7760 them every376 one376 to his service5656 and to his burden4853:
20But they shall not go in935 to see7200 when the holy things6944 are covered1104, lest they die4191.
21And the LORD3068 spake1696 unto Moses4872, saying559,

23From thirty7970 years8141 old1121 and upward4605 until fifty2572 years8141 old1121 shalt thou number6485 them; all that enter in935 to perform6633 the service6635, to do5647 the work5656 in the tabernacle168 of the congregation4150.
24This is the service5656 of the families4940 of the Gershonites1649, to serve5647, and for burdens4853:
25And they shall bear5375 the curtains3407 of the tabernacle4908, and the tabernacle168 of the congregation4150, his covering4372, and the covering4372 of the badgers'8476 skins that is above4605 upon it, and the hanging4539 for the door6607 of the tabernacle168 of the congregation4150,
26And the hangings7050 of the court2691, and the hanging4539 for the door6607 of the gate8179 of the court2691, which is by the tabernacle4908 and by the altar4196 round about5439, and their cords4340, and all the instruments3627 of their service5656, and all that is made6213 for them: so shall they serve5647.
27At the appointment6310 of Aaron175 and his sons1121 shall be all the service5656 of the sons1121 of the Gershonites1649, in all their burdens4853, and in all their service5656: and ye shall appoint6485 unto them in charge4931 all their burdens4853.
28This is the service5656 of the families4940 of the sons1121 of Gershon1649 in the tabernacle168 of the congregation4150: and their charge4931 shall be under the hand3027 of Ithamar385 the son1121 of Aaron175 the priest3548.
29As for the sons1121 of Merari4847, thou shalt number6485 them after their families4940, by the house1004 of their fathers1;
30From thirty7970 years8141 old1121 and upward4605 even unto fifty2572 years8141 old1121 shalt thou number6485 them, every one that entereth935 into the service6635, to do5647 the work5656 of the tabernacle168 of the congregation4150.
31And this is the charge4931 of their burden4853, according to all their service5656 in the tabernacle168 of the congregation4150; the boards7175 of the tabernacle4908, and the bars1280 thereof, and the pillars5982 thereof, and sockets134 thereof,
32And the pillars5982 of the court2691 round about5439, and their sockets134, and their pins3489, and their cords4340, with all their instruments3627, and with all their service5656: and by name8034 ye shall reckon6485 the instruments3627 of the charge4931 of their burden4853.
33This is the service5656 of the families4940 of the sons1121 of Merari4847, according to all their service5656, in the tabernacle168 of the congregation4150, under the hand3027 of Ithamar385 the son1121 of Aaron175 the priest3548.
34And Moses4872 and Aaron175 and the chief5387 of the congregation5712 numbered6485 the sons1121 of the Kohathites6956 after their families4940, and after the house1004 of their fathers1,
35From thirty7970 years8141 old1121 and upward4605 even unto fifty2572 years8141 old1121, every one that entereth935 into the service6635, for the work5656 in the tabernacle168 of the congregation4150:
36And those that were numbered6485 of them by their families4940 were two thousand505 seven7651 hundred3967 and fifty2572.
37These were they that were numbered6485 of the families4940 of the Kohathites6956, all that might do service5647 in the tabernacle168 of the congregation4150, which Moses4872 and Aaron175 did number6485 according to the commandment6310 of the LORD3068 by the hand3027 of Moses4872.
38And those that were numbered6485 of the sons1121 of Gershon1648, throughout their families4940, and by the house1004 of their fathers1,
39From thirty7970 years8141 old1121 and upward4605 even unto fifty2572 years8141 old1121, every one that entereth935 into the service6635, for the work5656 in the tabernacle168 of the congregation4150,
40Even those that were numbered6485 of them, throughout their families4940, by the house1004 of their fathers1, were two thousand505 and six8337 hundred3967 and thirty7970.
41These are they that were numbered6485 of the families4940 of the sons1121 of Gershon1648, of all that might do service5647 in the tabernacle168 of the congregation4150, whom Moses4872 and Aaron175 did number6485 according to the commandment6310 of the LORD3068.
42And those that were numbered6485 of the families4940 of the sons1121 of Merari4847, throughout their families4940, by the house1004 of their fathers1,
43From thirty7970 years8141 old1121 and upward4605 even unto fifty2572 years8141 old1121, every one that entereth935 into the service6635, for the work5656 in the tabernacle168 of the congregation4150,
44Even those that were numbered6485 of them after their families4940, were three7969 thousand505 and two hundred3967.
45These be those that were numbered6485 of the families4940 of the sons1121 of Merari4847, whom Moses4872 and Aaron175 numbered6485 according to the word6310 of the LORD3068 by the hand3027 of Moses4872.
46All those that were numbered6485 of the Levites3881, whom Moses4872 and Aaron175 and the chief5387 of Israel3478 numbered6485, after their families4940, and after the house1004 of their fathers1,
47From thirty7970 years8141 old1121 and upward4605 even unto fifty2572 years8141 old1121, every one that came935 to do5647 the service of the ministry5656, and the service5656 of the burden4853 in the tabernacle168 of the congregation4150,
48Even those that were numbered6485 of them, were eight8083 thousand505 and five2568 hundred3967 and fourscore8084.
49According to the commandment6310 of the LORD3068 they were numbered6485 by the hand3027 of Moses4872, every376 one376 according to his service5656, and according to his burden4853: thus were they numbered6485 of him, as the LORD3068 commanded6680 Moses4872.
