²Thus saith559 the LORD3068 of hosts6635; I was jealous7065 for Zion6726 with great1419 jealousy7068, and I was jealous7065 for her with great1419 fury2534.

³Thus saith559 the LORD3068; I am returned7725 unto Zion6726, and will dwell7931 in the midst8432 of Jerusalem3389: and Jerusalem3389 shall be called7121 a city5892 of truth571; and the mountain2022 of the LORD3068 of hosts6635 the holy6944 mountain2022.

⁴Thus saith559 the LORD3068 of hosts6635; There shall yet old men2205 and old women2205 dwell3427 in the streets7339 of Jerusalem3389, and every man376 with his staff4938 in his hand3027 for very7230 age3117. very: Heb. multitude of days

⁸And I will bring935 them, and they shall dwell7931 in the midst8432 of Jerusalem3389: and they shall be my people5971, and I will be their God430, in truth571 and in righteousness6666.

⁹Thus saith559 the LORD3068 of hosts6635; Let your hands3027 be strong2388, ye that hear8085 in these days3117 these words1697 by the mouth6310 of the prophets5030, which were in the day3117 that the foundation3245 of the house1004 of the LORD3068 of hosts6635 was laid3245, that the temple1964 might be built1129.

¹⁰For before6440 these days3117 there was1961 no hire7939 for man120, nor any hire7939 for beast929; neither was there any peace7965 to him that went out3318 or came in935 because of the affliction6862: for I set7971 all men120 every one376 against his neighbour7453. there was: or, the hire of man became nothing
