A Psalm of David. A song at the dedication of the temple.
ⓐ I willⓑ extol you, O LORD, for you have drawn me up and have not let my foesⓒ rejoice over me.
O LORD my God, Iⓓ cried to you for help, and you haveⓔ healed me.
O LORD, you have brought up my soul fromⓕ Sheol; you restored me to life from among those whoⓖ go down to the pit.[1]
Sing praises to the LORD, O youⓗ his saints, andⓘ give thanks to his holy name.[2]
ⓙ For his anger is but for a moment, andⓚ his favor is for a lifetime.[3]ⓛWeeping may tarry for the night, butⓜ joy comes with the morning.
As for me, I said in myⓝ prosperity, “I shall never beⓞ moved.”
By your favor, O LORD, you made myⓟ mountain stand strong; youⓠ hid your face; I wasⓡ dismayed.
To you, O LORD, I cry, andⓢ to the Lord I plead for mercy:
“What profit is there in my death,[4]if I go down to the pit?[5]Willⓣ the dust praise you? Will it tell of your faithfulness?
ⓤ Hear, O LORD, and be merciful to me! O LORD, be my helper!”
You have turned for me my mourning intoⓥ dancing; you have loosed my sackcloth and clothed me with gladness,
that myⓦ glory may sing your praise and not be silent. O LORD my God, I will give thanks to you forever!
